Ġgantija is a group of Neolithic temples on the outskirts of the town of Xagħra in Gozo. Our office was engaged by GVG Joint Venture to act as their project managers on the contract comprising the construction, the finishes, and the landscaping of the new Interpretation Centre. Our tasks involved the co‐ordination between the various sub‐ contractors and finishing trades. We were also tasked with the production of detail drawings for the precast concrete insulated sandwich wall system, which forms the principal loadbearing elements of the buildings. The main building was clad with a bespoke COR‐TEN steel shell designed too by the contractors’ team.

Since the Ġgantija Temples are a UNESCO World Heritage site the buildings surrounding them were kept to the bare minimum limited to the creation of new exposed‐aggregate footpaths linking the Visitors Centre to its satellite office.
